How was your Independence Day?!? I hope you saw lots of fireworks and ate good food! We had a great 4th, even though we were mauled by killer mosquitos after the heavy rains over the past week.
We have continued our festivities this evening with the celebration of our wedding anniversary today. It was four years ago today that we said "I do!" We had dinner at a nice restaurant--the same place that we dined at one year ago (which was also the day my hair started to fall out from chemo one year ago). After dinner, we came back home to light sparklers in honor of this special day. It was a very nice evening!
It's hard to believe that July is already here. June seemed to go by so quickly, but not without some ups and downs along the way. June was a difficult month, with the losses of two men who I admired much. Both men were strong Christians and devoted fathers and husbands. They will certainly be missed, but I know they are now rejoicing in heaven. Within days of the passing of these men, the world welcomed two new "little men." A new friend and a new family member, Garrett and Alex arrived on June 18th and June 20th, respectively. Two perfect little boys, who made a bitter June so much sweeter.
Life has been busy and crazy lately, so I have not taken the time to write as much here. I hope that things are truly starting to slow and settle down some more. Jared is still searching for a job here. In the meantime, he has found a opportunity as a consultant with Ignite. He is representing a electric company, Stream, that offers fantastic rates and great benefits. There's nothing like saving money on your utility bill AND beating the heat this summer! I have a link to Jared's website to the right of this post if you're interested. (

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful summer. Come see us in our new house if you're in the area! We would love to have you for a visit!
love&blessings,
