Hello friends!
I hope you all are having a fabulous Monday and the start of a fantastic week. If you are not so excited about it being Monday, it is my hope that you can decide to make it a great day and pass that along to someone else. Just my 2 cents...
I apologize for not writing lately, but we have been shuffling around and life has been busy since my last update. I really do not have too much to report, but in the coming days I will have important news from my doctor to share with you.
We celebrated my "last" chemo treatment with a birthday party just two days later (and just before the steroids wore off and I would start to feel rotten). It was a wonderful celebration of family and friends.
I refer to chemo #6 as the "last" treatment because my doctor has still not confirmed that I am totally done. I actually have another chemo treatment scheduled, just in case it is needed. This is why I am asking for your prayers this week. In just a couple of hours Mom, Jared, and I will head to Houston. Tomorrow afternoon (and late into the night) I will have all of my tests redone. Remember the invasive tests I had before my second surgery and before chemo? Well, much to my dismay, the time has come to have them again. We will be at MD from about 3:00pm until 11:00 or 12:00 at night. They had some trouble getting me in, so they had to schedule it this way. On Thursday morning at 8:00am, we will meet with my doctor to review the tests. This is when I hope to hear the news that I am cancer-free and officially finished with chemo for good! I can't wait!
Jared and I just returned from a Cursillo weekend at Camp Capers in Waring, Texas. A Cursillo (similar to a Walk to Emmaus or Tres Dias) is often termed as a "little course in Christianity," but it was so much more than that. We left there with beautiful new friends and a reminder of Christ's divine love for us. Ask me about it sometime and I would love to tell you more about it. However, the best way to truly comprehend something like this is to experience it yourself. We were truly blessed to have the opportunity to participate in this Cursillo, especially at this time in our lives.
I will sign off for now, but know that I will be updating you later in the week. As always, thank you all for marching along with me. God is good all the time and I am blessed to have you all in my life!
Love and blessings,Heather
